Grassy knoll theorists and illuminati buffs gather 'round.

Anybody been to the Peavey website today?

First, they are now selling their products online, for way more than I can get them in a shop for.

Second, the Cirrus 5 is gone from the listing. No reference at all.

Third, the Cirrus 6 is only available in redwood.

So, has Peavey stopped producing their best bass, and are they in the process of selling down remaining inventory?

  3. man am I glad I picked up my Cirrus 5 when I did. I notice now that any other bass I pick up seems like a piece of junk. My Cirrus and I will grow old together.....

I wonder what's up at Peavey (?)....

I don't know. Maybe the Cirrus didn't sell good enough to be profitable.

That Peavey is thinning out thier production to move thier factory. Right now all thier speakers are made in Foley, AL, while the actual Peavey plant is in Meridian, MS. But they are expanding the facility here in AL to move their entire operations there. Could just be that thier thinning it down to move production. Just my hopeful theory.

But why would they remove all references to the Cirrus 5, the entire Cirrus woods page, and have the six only in redwood?

Maybe they're gonna come out with an Oteil Burbridge Peavey model.

Hmm, semi-hollowbody graphite neck 35" scale six string...:p

...for about 3 months, until they completely destroy the product line, and sell it off to the lowest bidder.

i hear a consortium of korean street vendors are going to be selling the new Ampy-Yo trace elliot heads for 50 bucks.

I just went to the Peavey website, and it's all screwed up. If you click on the links for the 4 string Cirrus's, lots of them have pictures of 5 string Cirrus's. I think maybe the website is undergoing an overhaul, and it's goofed up.
