Any soundclips, guys?
when browsing through here several weeks ago someone posted this clip.... hope that helps.
let's try that again....
yea....I'd like to hear some as well!
I have a Cirrus 6 that I'll try to get some clips of up.
thanks Progzilla! maybe it'll help you sell it too
I love how your Conklin 8 string sounds....
HERE and listen to the 3rd track, "Cinquefoil," which was recorded with the Redwood body Cirrus 6.
Nice clip, General.
More Cirrus sonic porn: http://home.tampabay.rr.com/rrrrrrrr/hammond.wma
hearing that is friggin' porn.........brb...in either 15 minutes or an hour.it all depends..
here we go: ignore the crummy playing near the end. ::excuse:: the part was in 7/8, then 4/4, the 7/8 again.. and so on, but my metronome cant make those kind of changes so i tried to do the whole thing in 4 ::/excuse::
Nice! How did you record that? And how many tracks is it? My apologies if it is a single track. And if it is, you can really play!
THAT WAS THE ONE I WAS TRYING TO UPLOAD/FIND
Yeah, this one's been posted several times -- I just dug back a ways... anyone know details about this clip -- who's playing? what Cirrus wood combo? Etc?
This is a clip that Rickreyn has up on his website.
The bassist is Maurice Fitzgerald (who holds down the bottom for Gospel Artist Fred Hammond and Destiny's Child). I remember Rick saying Maurice was playing a Bubinga/Walnut Cirrus on this clip.
Hope that helps.
That helps me out a lot, actually - just so happens I'm planning on that wood configuration for my next Cirrus - now I'm even more certain it'll sound good!
I sent Rickreyn a PM asking about the clip over a month ago - PM tracking indicates he's never read the message...
Thanks for the info!
Hey, thanks for the kind words. I recorded it directly onto my computer to Cubasis via my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 soundcard. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there are two tracks there... one is the deep notes and the harmonics, and the other is the solo parts over it.
I added the chorus and reverb in Cubasis.
EDIT: So I can't play then?
2ndEDIT: Just for the folks talking about wood combos, mine is the flame maple over alder with the peacock blue finish. It sounds fantastic!
You play better than me.
I have a Redwood/Alder Cirrus five string. Acousticly, it definately has a noticebly warmer tone then the other wood combos. However there are so many other factors that affect tone. I have three amps... a Fender Bassman 25, an Ampeg B328 (combo w/ two 8" speakers), and a rig setup consisting of a SansAmp RBI preamp, QSC PLX1602 poweramp & Avatar B410. For example I can dial in that "HiFi" slap tone Maurice gets on that soundclip fairly easily on the Ampeg, but forget about it on the Bassman.
