Today I fired-off an email to Peavey over there in Meridian, Mississippi. I had an impedance question regarding my Delta Blues 30-watt 'little guitar' amp. Gotta love 'dem folks over there at Peavey... I got a response in less than 15 minutes, and the guy, Leon, answered my question well enough for my simple mind to understand!

So... in my message I casually mentioned how I wish they would re-issue the Classic 400 all-tube bass head. I said how I was always looking on Ebay for someone to give one up, but never seem to see one. In Leon's response, he suggested I check with Musician's Friend, as he said that Peavey found a bunch of leftovers in there warehouse, and MF bought them all. Well, you know I'm gonna do just that, but I certainly didn't see any on MF's website.

I then replied back to Leon, and I told him no more Classic 400's there. I further offered my opinion that Peavey should consider a re-issue with the 400, as there seems to be a rejuvinated interest in all-tube bass heads among bass players. So the man responds back, and this is a quote, cut & pasted right here from my email:

    David,
I do think that we are planning a tube Bass amp in the near future...They may introduce one at Summer NAMM in June...

    Thanks again,
    Leon

So.... how 'bout 'dem apples??? :D

It's been hinted at elsewhere here on TB, and I, for one, hope that this rumor has some truth behind it! :)

There's one up for sale on ebay right now unless somebody's snapped it up.

  16. My review on it is here. The one on ebay is priced HIGHER than new. IIRC, he wants $950 plus shipping for an amp that everyone else sells for $899 new.
