I am in the opportunity to buy a Classic 400 and 8x10 cab . The asking price is 1900 $. what do you guys think about this?
Is it worth the price and what about the sound?

  3. i think that sounds a little high. after all, the 400 was going for $600 in the musician's friend blowout a month or so ago. so then a new 810TVX lists at $1000. unless the 810 is an 810Pro, i'd try talking him down as far as he'll go. i'd feel better if it were $1,200 or less.

Don't thik is't the 810 pro. The amp and cab are both in tweed. It was love at first sight for me.

I know the feeling. I can't get enough of mine. Funkster bought a tweed head and 810 for a little more than half that. My tweed head after tubes and bias ran about $700... I'd go might go to $1000 to replace it if I had to. I think $1400 to $1500 max on a stack in tweed.

  6. An old thread I know but is anyone still playing these in 2016? After trawling all these old threads I seized the opportunity to buy a nos classic 400. After embarking on more refurbishment work than I expected she is good to go!! I am loving it so far but have surprisingly little gain on the crunch channel any ideas?
