  2. The Peavey Foundation was built to compete with the Jazz bass (similar neck, 2 single pups).

It is an awesome bass. They go for around $150 here. Look on Craig's and eBay and see if someone is ready to export one to Argentina.

So it is an economic competition to the jazz bass
can`t compare a 1000 usd fender jazz bass with a bass of 150 usd

  4. Considering one is the victim of hype and the other one is one of those best-kept secret, the answer is yes, you can.

  5. According to Wikkipedia that is a 92 Foundation. It has the desirable Superferrite pickups. Many players find them preferrable to a Jazz Bass. However, resale value is no where near what a Fender Jazz will bring. I have bought three for under $150 each as NickInMesa said. Typically they can be had between $100 and $250 compared to $800 -$900 for a similar vintage Fender Jazz. I've had both and feel the quality control was actually better on the Peaveys.

I have no idea what availability of either Peaveys or Fenders is in Argentina, but as reference; in the US foundations typically go for about 1/4 the price of similar vintage American Jazz basses, and slightly less than used Mexican Jazz basses.
