Question: just got this bass--cleaned it up-strung it up and got it professionally setup. The bass plays great but the g string goes flat and goes way out of tune. Is it the string--tuner--bridge? It holds tune for a few hours. The other strings hold overnight

Does that tuner turn easier than the others? Check the end of the key near the string and see if there is an adjustment there, if so tighten it up a little, small increments. Failing that try the same thing with the screw that holds the button on. It sounds like you have adjustable tension tuners and that one isn't. Are the washers between the button and the rest of the tuner bulging or missing? It may be time to change them.
