I was wondering if anyone had ever played a Peavey Fury 5 string and what they thought about it. I am looking for a good bass for slapping and playing funk and metal. Would this bass work well with that?

Sounds pretty good, looks really good, but the B string is pretty poor.

I've played a couple of the new Furys in a local music store. I pretty much agree with embellisher. IMO, they look great! They sound pretty good. But, the B-string ain't so hot. The B-string on the 6-string is a little tighter than the 5-string. Probably due to the 6-string neck having more mass. For comparison, I do think the Fury B-string is better than the B-string of an Ibanez Soundgear or a Korean Dean. I think the string-thru-body bridge on the Fury helps. Also, the string spacing on the Fury 5 (and 6) is kinda tight, so it might not be the best for slapping.
