Did Peavey ever make one? I haven't been looking very long but the only ones I've seen on Ebay have maple necks. I've seen a picture of one that someone here owns with a rosewood neck but it also has a matching black headstock...I wasn't sure if that was a special/limited version or whatever.

Hi Tabdog. I think you are the owner of that great-looking Fury: black body, white pickguard, rosewood fretboard, & black headstock. Did you buy it like that or did you do any alterations? Was it a special edition or something?

I may just cave in and get one with a maple fretboard. The Peavey Fury is my favorite P-type bass. It has a sleek kind of look to it without completely abandoning the look of a traditional Fender P Bass. GAS.

Peavey made a special run of the Peavey Fury that had the fretboard and neck painted black that also had the matching headstock.

I think the fretboard on those were still a maple fretboard though?

  5. You could pay extra for painted headstock and rosewood

The black neck fury were from the 70s

  6. Apologies black necks from the 90s---not 70s

  7. The early Fury is quite rare over here in Blighty and at one time I had two with RW boards.
Got a pic of the two but can't find it at the mo', so for the time being, here is one of them.

Great basses, WAY better than the prices they command.

    Fury-2.

    Cheers. :)

  8. I had a Fury from the mid-late 90's. It was junk. Didn't like it at all. Mine was Maple neck and maple fingerboard. Poplar body, I think...

    Agreed.
All the Furys that I have played have been wonderful!

Could always find two Peavey's and swap necks. I was messing around with my Foundation and Fury when I first got the Foundation. Neck swapped in perfectly and played beautifully. Of course, the Foundation label might confuse the uninitiated.

    Hay Herric,

Yes, I am the owner of that great-looking
    Fury: black body, white pickguard.

    But,

As said, mine has a maple neck painted black.
I think I saw one on TB a while back. That's
the only other one I have seen. They came
with white pick guard and chrome hardware.
I put black hardware on mine.

    5-9-7b.

I would like to have a RW neck, but the neck
on my Fury is wonderful, even though it is
    maple.

Big surprise, when I rewired it and put in an
Original Fender 62 pup in it,,, it surpass the
sound I could get out of any of my P basses,
or any P bass I have played for that matter,

    10-25-5.

Get you self a Fury with a good neck and you
    got something that's really good.

--I have one too. Just haven't posted pictures. It's a great bass. I have a Korean made milestone P-bass that has a very different feel and tone--but it's just as great, just in a different way.

I mean, in addition to my black USA Fury, I have a Korean one.

  18. First-gen Fury's aren't all that common here, either. No clue if maple is more common on these than r/w. Here's my minty CAR Fury.

    Well,

If you'll post some pics of yours, that will be
    two I've seen.

    I'd love to see it,

  20. That looks very nice - not seen a Fury with a pick-up like that before - is it the same as a T-20?

    Cheers. :)
