Peavey Grind 6 or Schector Stilletto 6? Need advice.

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by nonfatmatt, Aug 20, 2007.

  1. I've finally decided to take the plunge and play a 6. Basically I spend too much money and time not to develop my playing. I've got two ideas for cheap basses that will get me into the 6 string thing. One is one of those Peavey Grind 6 refurbs (butcher block) at $249 - http://www.musician.com/product/Peavey-Grind-Bass-6-BXP-NTB-6String-Bass?sku=511372V&src=GWFRWXX is the link. I've also seen a Schector Stiletto basic 6 on ebay for about 300 bucks -> http://cgi.ebay.com/Schecter-Stilet...oryZ4713QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

My criteria is something with a 35" scale and of decent playable quality. I don't really care what it sounds like but I'd like to spend under 400, so suggestions are more than welcome.

  2. Grind is very light and resonant......great sounding bass.
I would expect better EQ with Schecter..

Your dilemma might fall under the much publicised debate....
