Peavey Grind 6 tone?

    How's the tone on this bass? I've heard it's very warm, which worries me a bit. Can it get bright/percussive, or should I just go for a soundgear?

    Grinds have a 35" scale, right?
    That would tighten the strings more, so I'd think it's be brighter.

    I can't speak for the six, but I've owned a fiver. Mine was pretty much one tone, maybe "warm" like you described.

    The best thing about Grinds (if you get a good one- mine was) is that the basic construction is pretty good making it worth throwing different guts into. Ergonomic also.

    Un-modded Grinds are a one-trick pony, but it's a pretty nice trick anyway.
