I had just aquired a peavey tko 80 bass amp, and it work fine before I purchased it from my guitarist, cause I used it for recording. Well, he brings it over and now port A is dead, and sounds like the tweeter might be blown as well. I don't want to ask him for the money back cause I need something to work with at home. What could cause the first port to be dead?

If you're talking about the first input jack not working, and the other does, it's probably a bad solder connection or a broken jack.

that is an easy amp to work on, the top screws come out, and u can slide the whole top amp foward, disconnect the speaker, and solder away
