Peavey TNT amp is distorting...

  1. Not so. This is an AC signal, there's no other speakers in the cabinet so in this case there's no "out of phase" condition.

    A speaker doesn't care which way it's connected. The only time we're concerned about which way it's connected is when it must move in phase with the other speakers of the cabinet, if there are other speakers. Then we just want all of them conencted the same way.
  2. i had a very similar problem with my old Peavey TKO115BW, which was farting easily on low notes, even with no eq, and little volume and gain. Turned out the back of the speaker had warped slightly, and reqd them to take off the magnet and realign the magnet back onto the basket. This seemed to fix it, and according to them was quiet common with these amps.
