what size Allen key do I need for a peavey millennium BXP? Nothing I have fits - gotta go to the hardware store!
Seems to me I ran into this problem with another bass I had. Sorry , but I don't know the exact size you need but here's what I ran into. The allen nut was pretty far down in the hole and the short end of my allen wrenches was just not long enough. Try sticking the long end in there. Also , it was much smaller than I thought it would be. With the long end in , you can use a pair of kliens (elerctricians plyers) to turn the thing. Auto zone sells a nice set with a rubber holder for about 8 bucks. Hope this helps.
No, I don't have ANY loose allen keys. my other bass has a Stingray - style body end adjuster. guess I'm buying a set of metric allen keys today!
If you want one stop shopping for your truss rod adjustments now and for ever more get a set of these: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Tools/Wrenches/Ball-End_Hex_Keys.html I have the SAE set and it has fit every bass I ever used them on, including metric (there's always something close enough). A great investment and the smaller keys work on a lot of other hardware like bridges. The ball ends do come in very handy.
