BETTER PICS: This is a 1989 Peavey Dyna-Bass Unity, made in the USA. Peavey has long been known for building instruments that far exceed in quality what they cost in dollars... and this bass is a prime example. The craftsmanship and feel of this bass are easily rivaling basses I've played that cost double or triple what this does. You have a solid neck through construction with an ebony fingerboard, which is certainly a premium starting point. The neck has a fast, slim feel, 1.6" nut, 34" scale. The body wings are maple (I believe). The rock-solid tuners keep everything in tune nicely. And these frets are in fine shape with plenty of life left. But the real awesomeness is the upgraded electronics. This bass now boasts a set of EMG X series pickups (JVX, PX), as well as the top-of-the-line BQS preamp. This took an already amazing bass and boosted the sonic capability through the roof. You can dial in a ton of different sounds with the sweepable midrange control, 3 band boost/cut, and pan pot. Whether you're after a super-deep dub sound or glass-shattering slap attack, it can do it. (This upgrade was about $380 in parts alone!) All that said, this bass is 30 years old. For that amount of time, it's still in great shape, but not a museum piece. There's a few scratches and dings here and there, but nothing that has any effect on the playability or function. The truss rod works great, the cover is missing a couple screws, but it stays on just fine with one. (It's included, just not in the pics) The original case is included. It's certainly seen better days, but it works to save this bass from damage, just the way Peavey intended. Weight is right about 9.2 lbs. The original pickups and preamp are NOT included and NOT available. This bass is sold as-is. But it has been checked over and everything is good with it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. $400 obo + shipping Paypal only. Sale only now, found something local and this needs to fund that.
