I've got a sweet deal on a Peavey head (nitrobass)
but I've always heard that Ampeg is the better brand. So what im wondering is should I just go in for the Ampeg 220w combo or buy a Peavey header then invest in a cab later on. I liked the sound that ampeg had and Ive never really played on a Peavey. My music style leans more towards indy/punk. But my venues are usually rather small clubs.

  2. I'd go for the Peavey and get a 410 cab later.

I played through a nitrobass head in the music store before I bought my ampeg. If your choice is only between the ampeg combo or the nitro bass head and lets say a 410 cab I'd go with the peavey head cab set up. Just so you could add another cab later and have a stack instead of a combo amp. Just my opinion. Either way you'll be sounding great :bassist:
