    Is it a good bass?

  2. I've played a few in stores and the tone was good and it had an extremely narrow and fast neck if that's your thing. All that I can say other than that is that Peavey makes good products and their customer service is second to none. If it's a bass that you like, I think that you'll be happy with it.

I played one of the butterscotch models. Very nice. Serious GAS for me...

I tried two which was all I could find around here.

They sounded average and the frets and fingerboard left a lot to be desired. The necks felt like the fret-ends hadn't been dressed properly (not fret sprout) and the roundover to the fingerboard was very sharp, both combining to make it uncomfortable to play. That kind of surprised me given my long experience with Peavey instruments.
