Just wondering what pedal you all recommend for enhance a fat tone. I was thing of a Sans Amp. Just wondering what else would be good and perhaps less expensive.

    I play a Fender Jazz, with a Bassman 200.

Well, I think a sansamp would do you well for fatteining up the tone. (shameless plug...) I have one for sale, in fact...

Several Options for a "fat tone":

    1. Amps eq combined with the Neck Pickup soloed and the tone rolled off.

    2. Sansamp RBI or SADDI, my experience is with the RBI and I can to atest to how "fat" it can make your tone with simply adjusting the Blend control. As far as I understand the SADDI (stomp box version) is the same circuit minus the Mid control.

    3. A stomp box preamp or eq. That way you could have your normal tone on your amp and then change to a fatter tone for when you need a little more bass/less clarity. I have heard good things about the Sadowsky, Fodera, and Aguilar preamps, and equally good things about the Boss 9 band Eq Stomp Box.

    4. A bass booster pedal. I read the Bass Guitar review of the Thunderhead bass booster and they seemed to give it great marks. They said it could go from a subtle boost to a dubbed out super bassy tone.

    Hope some of that helps,

I got really fat tone also with the EBS BassIQ (maybe too fat). Set the treshold so high that the signal doesn't pass to the envelope.

Are you talking about the Fat-Boost or the Bass-Drive?

+2. Tried one out at my local music store, and I think I'll be picking it up today. Sounds great.
