pedal sized preamp with EQ.

Hello!

what piece of gear will you recommend me as a preamp for recording?

Needs to have versatile EQ (at least 1 semi parametric, but the more the better).
I don't care about compression, or distortion.

Not sure if you want an actual pedal (I'm sure others may chime in with things like the Tone Hammer Pedal), but I've been toying with picking up one of these for the same purpose:

If you are recording why are you limiting it to a pedal size?

If you're talking pedal format, I use the Aguilar Tonehammer. Super clean DI with fairly powerful tone shaping capabilites. It has the Aguilar AGS circuit that's used on the Aggie TH heads, and a nice single band sweepable mid control. You can go from clean to a warm drive sound with a bit of hair.
A nice feature that I've used for recording is to go pre-EQ with the XLR out for a dry signal, and simultaneously go affected out the 1/4" out. Blend to taste on the console. Works very nicely!
Another nice feature is that you can also use it as part of a live rig with a poweramp and cab.

Doesnt have to be a pedal, but has to be portable. The Aguilar looks good!

The Phil Jones Bass Buddy is a little larger than the ToneHammer but it does come with a nice carry bag. I have both and I use the Phil Jones more because it has a headphone out and aux input for CD/MP3 player. Most importantly they both sound great so you can't go wrong with either of them IMO.
