Hi! Me and my band have alot of parts and solos in our songs where the two guitars play harmony melodies. This leaves quite an empty room when playing live since no one is playing chords.
So we were wondering if it might be worth investing in a distortion pedal or something in order to let bass play the chugging chords!
Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'd suggest an octave box before distortion personally. Playing power chords with an octave up really thickens things up, you can add some dirt after. Or just play an 8 or 12 string bass. :D
