So I just recieved my Pedulla Rapture (active) last week

and I had already known that my Zvex Wholly
Mammoth would not sound as good as my
Ibanez (passive). It would be very compressed sounding.
Well of couse it sounded awful, but I wasn't going to give
up there. I thought about a bunch of ideas to try and solve that

    1. Run a tuner or volume pedal in front- didn't work
    2. Turn down volume pots on bass- didn't work
    3. Run through my FX circuit on my amp (GK 115)- didn't work
    4. Try other pedals to try and mimic the WM- :rollno: didn't work

But yesturday I came upon something
I added an EQ pedal, (Boss GEB-7)
After fiddling with the WM and the EQ..I GOT IT :hyper:

I compared my Pedulla to my Ibanez and they sounded identical
.. something that shouldn't be said often lol but it sounded
    like...Wholly Mammoth noise
Heres a picture so you can see my settings, and there is a volume pedal in front of the Mammoth, (rogue VP-201)

I hope your active sounds like mine does with this information
It feels good to have the Mammoth back :)

  3. do you run the EQ all the time, making it constantly sound like your ibanez? Because imo, that would suck! :p

Or if you do the dance of a thousand pedals (hitting one then the other quickly), you should consider purchasing a looper of some form, to run them both at the same time and only have to hit one switch.

I have a boss bass eq like you have, and i run it all the time with my passive basses, and two, three band preamps, and i get an amazing tone, i never the eq or the premaps off.
