Hey guys, I've recently beeen hit hard with Pedulla Hexabuzz GAS! I did a quick search and didn't see any large Pedulla threads so I figured I'd start one. SHOW OFF THEMS PEDULLAS! (Buzz and MVP only preferably :p)

I also have a question concerning the buzz FB's. What exactly is it they are coated with? Bass Central says epoxy but apparently epoxy doesnt settle well on ebony and is useless on ebony... I figured a polyeurethane (sp?) type of thing. I was considering having the board of my Carvin coated cause I really love that sound, but my luthier said he wouldn't coat it with epoxy cause it would just make the bass sound quacky... I was considering buying a can of polyeurethane and doing it myself but sacred to ruin the bass....

    ANYWAYS GAS ON!

Doesn't have the sexy curves of a Buzz/MVP (which I used to find un-sexy!) Nonetheless cool bass, not big on the fuscia-esque red job though...

hrm, if I had like 375 US plus shipping I'd send my Carvin over to have the fingerboard done!

Playing a Pentabuzz is what got me going on the fretless thing-I came very close to ordering a Hexabuzz once. The coating on the fingerboard is polyester (not epoxy), which is a little different than polyurethane. If you've never played one, they are very smooth and hard-they hold up well to wear. I think I remember reading somewhere that they use Diamondkote, which is a brand of polyester they use on car finishes.

Here's my PentaBuzz. I did a little custom bodywork on it to make it look like a bass.

Hey now, guys, look... I do not wanna do anything illegal here... but I would kill somebody in front of their own mama for a Thunderbass ET 5-string w/ 17.5mm spacing. I'd kill her mama for a matching set of fretted and fretless.

...I'd also easily toss the Rapture 2000 into the upper echelon of high-quality Jazz-inspired basses along with Sadowsky, Lull, and others. Even the standard non-flamed soapbar equipped model is an amazing bass for the price (especially on the used market.)

It's simply a shame that a good deal of people's first impressions of Pedullas are from Guitar Center, where they've been hanging on the wall for years, with frets that'll cut you and in dire need of a set-up. :scowl:

...and if anybody testifies against me, I'd gouge their eyes out. ;)
