Im wondergin about the different pedulla raptures. could you describe the sound of a rapture with j pickups and a rapture with a humbucker. audio clips would be great.

    Thanks!,

  2. Rapture with the J pickups sounds a lot like a jazz bass.

Well ... kinda. The rapture has a small maple body, so the response is quite different from a bass with a big alder or ash body. The Rapture J2 has lots of punch and focus, but is not as thick, warm, or complex as a normal jazz bass. This is also due to having bartolini humbuckers instead of single coils.

The single pickup version I've only spent a little time with, but it seemed to have a really solid, focussed sound, I think it might be better than the J2 in a lot of ways. I ended up selling my J2 since I wanted something that sounded more like a Fender.

My favorite pickup config from pedulla is the thunderbass/thunderbolt setup.
