I'm in the market for a new bass and I noticed one of these on ebay. I'm usually a Modulus Q5 man but these basses intrigue me. I'm wondering, how does it play and what differences (compared to the Q) should I expect when I pick one up? Also, what is the aftermarket value of these basses? I'm seeing 00' to 02' Q5's go for around $1300 to $1500.

  2. Raptures sound great, as do all Pedulla basses. They have a very warm, thick tone, while still sounding modern. I also found the Rapture to have a bigger neck than most of the other Pedullas I've played. By bigger neck, I mean more normal. The Pentabuzz that I played had a really flat neck. It was the only thing I didn't like about it.

I like the neck on mine, I have it set up pretty low its a super playing bass.

Those j2000s are near pornographically sexy IMO.

The GC here in Dallas (Plano store) was selling them new the other day for $999. I think they are going to stop carrying them. The have the regular new price at abpout $2000.

Sounds like a good deal to me, but I don't have $999

    I had a J2000-5.
    Natural-AAA-flame maple.
    Maple Fingerboard.
The last fretted bass i owned.
    I play fretless only now.
I was a great playing and sounding bass.

I just picked up a Pedulla Rapture J2 5 string, in cherry sunburst w/birdseye maple neck from Guitar Center for $1,059--no case (list $2,595) YES!!!

They are no longer going to carry stock on them.

It has a very throaty growl that seems unique to this bass, and an extremely fast neck... well worth a listen/play.
    I would highly recommend:D
