Pedulla Thunderbolt and Rapture 5-strings

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Peter McFerrin, Jun 17, 2001.

  1. Bass Northwest has a Rapture 5 for $850, and Bass Palace has a Thunderbolt 5 for $1050. I've never played a Pedulla before, but every review I've read--pro and amateur--has commented favorably on the B string. Does anyone have either of these basses? Are they versatile enough to cover my current gigging needs (ska/funk/jazz band, slapping and big meaty fingerstyle)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Don't own both...have played both...

IMHO I like the Thunderbolt better. To me, It hade a slightly better B string than the Rapture. Plus, with the "Thunderguts" switch, you get a whole new sound outta the puppy; yes, the name explains the function of the switch... That, And I just think it looks better:)

Either way, you really can't go wrong.
