Whats so great about a pentabass?
It's like a penta-house.
It means you live in the upper crust of society.
If you're talking about a Penta Systems bass, there was a long thread about them a while back, called "For those who love the lows", started by Jauquo III-X. In answer to your question, nothing.
I'm not sure I can explain why they are so great, but I know it's the first fretless I played that I liked. I like it so much I bought on last Sunday. I think part of it is the fact that the fretboard is finished in a polyester coating that provides a very distinct feel and sound. One things for sure, I LOVE mine.
That would be a pentabuzz. Which may be what he was talking about.
Oops. I guess I've got Pentabuzz on the brain, since I just got one.
Pentabuzz = fantastic Pedulla fretless bass. (As in catphish's post.)
PentaBass = Penta Systems deceptively marketed fairly ordinary bass. (As in con-john's post.)
Penthouse = big apartment at the top level(s) of an apartment building, requiring big bucks. If you have one of these, you already have a Fodera or Carl Thompson. (As in BLIMPLIKZIT's post. )
