pentatonic scale

    What is a "pentatonic scale" ? Anyone can teach me what is that and how I can play it with the bass ?

    Hi,

    there are several basic pentatonics.

    The most common on is the Major (I don`t know if that is right, because I´m german, and just no DUR and MOLL) Pentatonic.
    It consists of the basic tone, the 2, the 3, the 5 and the 6 (and the octave).

    So if you start up with C Major (3rd Fret A String), the Pentatonic would consist of C, D (5th Fret A String), E (2nd Fret D String), B (2nd Fret G String), and C (5th Fret G String).

    This is basic.

    You can then also do several different things..
