Perfect Strings for Traditional P-Tone

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by bgavin, Jan 28, 2002.

  1. What is the opinion of the perfect strings for a traditional, fat P-tone. Rich, fat, and full, without being clanky.

  2. Fender 9050s.

LaBella Flats, or D'Addario Chromes, but you'll have to leave them on for six months without cleaning them to hear what you're asking for. :D

Yep, LaBella flats, the '54 Jamerson set. Heavy and fat.

  5. Rotosound flatwound 77s. Not too thuddy, yet not overly bright.

I'm pretty sure the jamerson set only fits on 34" scale basses w/ a topload bridge, and shorter.
