im not saying this cuase im on TB, but when i play something and some random person say you suck or i could play that or any other thing like that. and i love to hand them my bass and say go at it lets see what you can do, and they got nothing. its great fun
This one's been done before, but I'll bite again... Slow drivers in the fast lane. People who don't use their turn signal. People who beat around the bush and don't simply say what they mean.
i hate it when people bother me when i'm doing something. i hate it when people take a solo (when they are not asked too) and can't play the changes or any changes. i hate it when people say one thing and do the other. one last one, i hate it when drummers think that playing fills every four bars sounds good. OK, i'm done
Whoops, I started this one over at activebass.com a long time ago and it's still going so I brought it over here. Never realized you did it. Sorry!
That (^) is one of my major pet peeeves... ...also when people act surprised when I do exactly what I say I'm going to or when they realize I am right about something - just because people may be used to dealing with flakes doesn't mean they should be surprised when I'm not a flake. I find their surprise very rude. ("Oh, you're here already - wow, I didn't think you'd be here for awhile" when it's 7:15 and I had said I'd be there between 7:00 and 7:30. - ) obligitory bass related peeve: Comments like last nights "compliment" from my roommate when I was jamming along with some albums: "hey, you sounded pretty good - you sounded just like the songs you were playing..." - What did he think, I was just going to let the albums play and hold my bass and dance around hitting random notes? Of course if I'm playing along, I'll be playing along...
I hate it when people say "whatever", either online or in person. When I ask someone a question, I want a yes or no, not a whatever. And bass related, I hate it when guitarists say that bass is easy to play.
Bad spelling/grammar. It's ok to use colloquial and informal usage in settings like the online world, so grammar is excusable (to some extent) there, but in normal speech or written reports I expect perfect the first time.
Hey looky here! Just a few months ago! http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84254
my 3 main ones: smokers: ugh people who dont wash their hands after using the restroom, #1 or #2, please wash your hands guitarists who think they can play bass because "its the same as guitar but easier" double ugh
When I see a local bass player try to play finger style and they have REALLY bad technique. Its like learn to play it right or don't play it.
