Petition for Carvin to do a single cut

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by MikeBass, May 20, 2011.

  1. In the last few years, Carvin has been doing some crazy good work.
The Icon basses, the SB basses, the new Brian Bromberg basses....

So, this thread isn't to debate the pros and cons of a single cut, or Carvin basses really.
More for someone (Carvin) to do a more "mass produced" single cut at affordable levels.
A true single cut, not like the ASAT or Reflex.

Plus with all the options that Carvin offers..WHEW!!!!!!

So, please refrain from posts not liking single cuts and/or Carvin.
Just if you want them to make one. That's all.
A petition and maybe someone from Carvin will notice this thread and chime in.
I'll ask mods to clean out any bashing of the above.
Ya never know what we could do!

Also if someone has some good Photoshop skills and wants to take an Icon, Bromberg or something and make it a single cut, please do so!!!!

I for one would DEF be in line for one.

What horn/top shape do you have in mind? Like a Warwick Thumb single cut or Gretsch

I'm thinking Benavente SCA or SCB styles.

Yes please. If they could do a BB76 in a singlecut I'd be all over that. 'specially if they'd offer it in a 35" scale length.

I'm in. I think that it would be awesome.

I've been looking at them recently and a singlecut would make me super happy.

Count me in on the petition. Its very possible that, had Carvin made a single cut 2 years ago, I'd have bought one. Instead I saved up a bit longer and wound up going with custom luthier Bud Lecompte (which I liked so much, I now own 3 Lecomptes). Still, if Carvin made a SC in the same cost range as their other instruments, its possible I'd still go for one in the future.

It should be Brubaker style for sure.

I can't imagine anything replacing my Spector NS-5 (for under $1500, anyway) but maaan....if Carvin were to offer this.....

The lack of 35" scales is the only think that has kept me from making numerous purchases from Carvin. I also have never contacted them directly about it, but my wallet thanks me for that.

You know they have a full line of 35" scale basses, right?

Make it 34", 5 string, shaped like a KL Brase or a Fodera Emperor II; Neck through or set neck...

But Carvin will only do this is they perceive enough market demand...

I'd definitely be interested in a SC from Carvin. Benavente, Fodera, and Brubaker would be good shapes to follow.

Please avoid the 80's rock bass headstock styling though :bag:...something like the Icon headstock would work for me.

    35" scale in a 5 or 6 string version.

Mike it's not going to happen.

Carvin will not do a new model without a huge artist making it happen.

All new recent models have a big name attached to the model, BB, BB, SB.... Those are some funky bass designs you have to admit.

And yet they won't make a P90 or a split P pu after years of requests on their forums.
