Any studies between the pf 500 or 800 vs the SVT 7?

The 7 Pro sounds just a little bit more tubey to me, which makes sense since it has a preamp tube and the PF heads don't. But the PF heads are great sounding as well and their preamps are very similar to the 7 Pro's preamp, minus the tube.

I've found the 7Pro more tubey like too, but it just did not have the mid's that I like. Picked up a PF 800 and there were the mid's the 7Pro was missing. Albeit, the PF 800not quite as tubey sounding as the 7Pro but it comes close enough. Love the compressor on the PF 800 too. Great piece of gear and has been rock solid on over 50 gigs now.

I have now tried both the 7 Pro and the pf-800. I have to say the 800 sounds MUCH better in thickness and great mids. I hated the mids on the 7 Pro. The pf-800 has more range in adjustment. Plus, I felt the 800 got a bit louder. I would have thought the 7 Pro being 1000 watts would clearly out-volume the 800, but not the case. I returned
the 7 Pro to the store.
