Anyone tried one these units? How does Phil's stuff color the sound of the bass, I know most people love the PJB because of the multiple small speakers, but what of the preamps themselves?

This unit could be the one I've been waiting for (the swiss army bass unit) but does the sound add up?.....

I've played through a few different PJB rigs, from the M500 / 8T / 16 B to the PJB briefcase.

The tonal quality was similar in both: extremely clear and punchy! I think the eq offers tremendous flexibility to carve out any tone you're looking for, but the amp itself is pretty flat sounding.

I know it´s an old thread...
But I´m looking for a compressor, preamp, DI right now so how does the Phil Jones comp sound/work?

I'm interested in this as well.

I'm not sure they've been released yet, feel free to correct me on this.

Did you find the Briefcase to be very hissy? I recently picked one up, and it has a ton of hiss, even with the volume all the way down. My unit is a pre-production model, though, and I am considering trading it in on a production model - especially if they don't have this hiss.

    Thanks, Tom.

I never had any problems with hiss when I owned a Briefcase, FWIW.

Thanks. That is good to know. This one's going back.
