OK, I was bored this morning...so I 'shopped myself a Fodie Edwards 4.

The Edwards is a custom Emperor shape done by Fodera..as seen here...

And I'm pretty enamoured with the Emperor 4's, such as the one that just went on Ebay this week, as seen at the Groove Shoppe. (Thanks to the Shoppe).

I combined them and did a different knob arrangement for this bad boy. Couldn't quite get the lower horn angle, but I tried my best:

    Enjoy!

You might not be able to tell, but this bass has Nordie Dual Coils... :D

Will, this knob placement would work nicely.

Hey, I've not seen that layout before, very cool. Maybe I'll tweak it.

very cool job on the faux-toe shoppe, Will!

Jared Morante had a Garrison 5'er with that knob arrangement.

What type of preamp are you using with the Nordies in this Faux-dera?

I love it. Hmm, lemme think...right now I've got an outboard Pope pre (Fodera 2000), a bass with a Bart NTMB3 (and Nordie PU's), and a bass with a Smith 3-band and Nordies. I think I like the Smith pre best, so Smitty in the faux Fodie! (and it's a 5 knobber. so it works with the pic)

    But I'm open to suggestions!

    AD,

That has got to be one of my favorite Foderas...

... just wished it had 26 frets and the ramp :D , granted I still wouldn't kick it out of bed though.

I figured as long as I was messing with it, I would go the distance and make it a little more unique. I added an F-Bass style contour on the bottom and some blocks. Not that it needed either! Tell me if it has gotten to gaudy.

I have to admit that I like the blocks a lot. Not a fan of the cut in the back for this bass though.

Oh, I like where you placed the knobs now though.

Andy, you're totally right. The blocks work and the cut doesn't. I edited the pic at the top. Now I feel so forlorn. It's like I've painted a picture of a beautiful woman I will never meet... :crying:

Yeah, that one's got a purpleheart top. I love it's simplicity.
