I'm getting a new phone and I need suggestions of what I should get. Don't say iPhone haha
Why no iPhone? There's a reason it's one of the most popular devices out there.
What are you specifically looking for.
Wait a few months for the Galaxy S5.
I don't have anything against iPhones I just wanna try something new. I haven't really looked at any of the phones that are out right now haha
How's the battery life on it?
Here's what I have:
I don't text, browse, or do anything other than make phone calls with it.
And I rarely use it.
Be old school like me. I'm very happy.
LOL, here's mine:
I'm in the same boat as mellowinman, old school, rarely use it, and have been happy to pay only $15/month for my phone service, based on a service plan that Verizon no longer offers.
However... it's actually gotten to be a hassle not having access to my e-mail and calendar, and it's probably cost me a few gigs. So I just ordered a Samsung Galaxy Centura from TracFone, to see how I like it.
I just can't fathom dumping a sizable fraction of my disposable income into phone service.
I'm on T-Mobile and pay $30/mo for 4G service.
Honestly, I was recently in the market while looking for my first smartphone, and after trying out a lot of different ones I ended up going with the 5s. It does everything I need, it's super quick, I've experienced no bugs or glitches with it, and it gets the job done. I couldn't be happier.
That's pretty good. I ended up choosing a phone that uses the Verizon network, which seems to have better coverage in Wisconsin.
iPhone or Nexus 5. Those are the only phones worth considering.
The Lumia line also has some very nice hardware, but sadly WP8 is looking like it won't catch on. I would love for a third OS to come around.
I am a Lumia 920 owner and will move to the 1520 in May. I moved from the iPhone 4. I take a lot of pictures and IMHO the Nokia cameras are the best right now. I also like the Live Tiles. Yes sales are dragging in the US, but are doing reasonably well in other markets.
My wife has a Samsung Galaxy III. It works well for her. I wind up managing it for her most of the to time. I just don't find the phone very exciting. But I am not a developer so I may not see the beauty of the Android operating systems of which there are many as I understand it.
I had an iPhone. Switched to a Galaxy S4. I am underwhelmed.
Go with an iPhone.
I'm with fdeck and mellowinman; mine's so old, it can't even take a picture (Sanyo SCP-2400). Although I'm kind of a Luddite, and hate phones in general, that's not the real reason I haven't upgraded. Seen that Verizon commercial, with people looking at maps of network coverages, and trying to guess what they are? Notice that big blank space on all of them (even Verizon's) in the Southwest? Right in the middle of that, is where I live. Get out of the Las Vegas valley, and your cell phone is D-E-A-D, for many, many, miles in any direction. So, I just haven't bothered. I'm actually looking at emergency satellite phones; they would be much more useful out here.
Samsung Galaxy S3/S4/ or wait for the S5.
My wife jsut finally gave up her flip phone and got an S3. Now I can't wait to get a Galaxy. My contract is up after the S5 comes out so depending on pricing I'll either have it or the S4.
