Hallo all, long time lurker first time poster :ninja:

Am finally going to upgrade my rig, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with "Phonic XP" power amplifiers.
A talkbass search reveals that the MAX series is a reasonable budget amp, but how about the XPs? Is there anything about them that would preclude their use as a bass amp?

    I'm looking at the XP1000: 400W per side @ 4ohm.

    cheers

I've never used one, but I did work briefly for the Australian importer of Phonic.

The main difference between the XP's and the max series is that the XP's can go to 2 ohms per side, they're 3 RU, they're heavier but produce a lot more power. They'va also gota a lot more comprehensive protection circuitry than the max series.

They're good amps for the price. We never had a simgle power amp of any kind come back under warranty in the 3 months I worked there. Everyone I spoke to that used them spoke highly of them.
