Are there any Musician's Friend or Sweetwater's of the camera/photography world out there? You know reputable sites where you might find better deals than ordering direct from Nikon or Canon?
Not trying to hijack, but where is a reliable place to buy and sell used photography equipment on the interwebs? I know someone with a trove of older Nikon lenses and SLR bodies they are wanting to sell.
B&H and adorama are where i usually buy new photo gear - B&H more than adorama for some reason. i also sometimes at bestbuy or samy's, and i've also bought several cameras and lenses used from B&H. also buy used from keh. you can sell used to B&H and keh, as well.
"You go to B&H!" commercials have been hammered into my brain for as long as I can remember. They also have good stuff and customer service.
Thanks for the replies. I had seen B&H come up but wanted to make sure they were legit. So I'll check them out.
B&H is a pretty big player in photo, video and audio AV gear. I bought a fair amount of stuff from them in my years running an AV section. I've also done business with Adorama and it has consistently gone well. They run more retail sales and promos than B&H does.
If the SLRs are film cameras, he may have to pay someone to haul them off. The older lenses may be worth more than they were when new, though, especially if they are fast (large aperture). Anyway, B&H is the place for new gear - the very best in customer service.
I was just getting ready to ask about Abes of Maine. I'm loking for a Nikon D7200 and they are the only ones Ive found with one in stock since it is a generation back from the D7500. Thanks for the heads up. What kind of bad experience did you have? Edited: To say Abe's is the only place i can find it "new" and not a refurbished version. Amazon has them but kind of scared me off by comments and reviews that it was not a "USA" camera and black market camera with no Nikon warranty.
