    the LTD.

i own a sjb 75 and its good, but the things that i want to upgrade, such as the pickups, the bridge, and the tuner, are better on that model.

and i would upgrade, but mine is a 5 string and i never use the low b, so its pointless.

honestly, get the 3rd one and buy a black pickguard. end of story.

they say that the LTD basses are the best due to the upgrages. I don't have one, but I do have 2 reg sx basses and both sound as good as I expected.

    good luck

  6. If it were me I would go with the first one. I've had two of the blocked necks and though cool, not as good a quality as the unbound necks i've played. I think you get more for you money with the unbound neck. they are all cool.

On looks my vote is for sunburst/tort/rosewood

On playability I lean towards the LTD.

I bought the LTD first, and didn't know how nice it was UNTIL I bought a standard P/J...since then I have swapped a P neck onto the LTD and had BOTH necks worked on by "Scott in Dallas" ....they are both as good as the LTD now.

  10. The only thing I don't like about the LTD is the upgraded tuners -- I like traditional elephant ear tuners.

I will trade you my Old Style Tuners for your upgraded ones if you decide to go that way...I like the upgraded style better....do don't let THAT stop you...

go with 3. Pick and bridge covers look like **** on actual vintage basses. They look even worse on imitation vintage basses.

You say "my next 'SX' bass" but if you already own one SX (great basses for the $ by the way) then I'd encourage you to keep saving and by something else.

Honestly buy your bass with upgrades in mind.

My next SX is gonna have everything - the body and neck upgraded. I'll gut it, put one of those BadAss Bridges in, some Ultra Lite tuners, some Basslines pickups or some passive EMG's, a good ol bone nut or something, that kinda thing.

Talk about a good bass. :D
