Picato ground-wound strings on fretless

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Rockin John, Apr 16, 2002.

  1. I'm about to get a new Yamaha fretless and want to put flats / grounds on it to preserve the f/board.

Is there any opinion on Picato ground wound strings.

Are there any recommendations for other string types?

    Thanks.

I highly recommend that you should most definitely try out the Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats (#JF344).
Don't decide right away that you don't like them, they get better when they're broken in.

  3. Ok. Well my dealer's ordered me a set of the Thom's so that's the situation sorted.

    Thanks.
