Piccolo bass sound clip

    This is a recording of my Kramer Duke bass (30.5" scale) strung with D'Addario EXL280s. All notes played in the clip are before the 12th fret. (It'd sound more guitar-like if I went higher up on the neck).

    These strings really made this bass come ALIVE. Before now, the sustain on this thing was kind of crappy due to the 30.5" scale, but when strung up an octave it sounds beautiful.

    Any other piccolo bass clips?

    If your scale length is that short you can do what I did (it's in my sig line)...string it up with regular guitar strings. Makes a big difference in the tone. Sounds good, BTW.
