Pick or pickless?

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by kurva, Jun 14, 2001.

  1. Hi all, I just heard Bob Seger's (Seager's?) "DOwn on Main Street" on the radio and was trying to figure out whether the bass in that song is played with a pick or not. I'm a beginner and so I am trying to listen to lots of music and pay attention to the bass line, and listening to this song I realized that I have no clue. Is it even possible to tell just from the sound?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

It depends on the size and the style. If it is a felt kindof pick it will be soft. harder louder sound. If it is fingered (or thumbed) it will be soft and blured together. good luck.
