PIck up Carvin cabs at pawn shop?

  1. There have been the same 2 older (but clean looking) Carvin cabs. a 1x15 and a 2x10. THe price is $300 for both. They are not the red eye, but do not appear to be too old. They are bassically just black with a carvin logo.

I need cabs for my tube head for a talent show, and for jamming/bands. Of course I will test them with my combo to make sure they work. This seems like a good deal, so go or no go?

Do you mean $300 each, or for the whole deal? If for the whole deal, I'd say jump on it. That's pretty cheap for a couple o' cabs. Just make sure the drivers are all in good shape and the horn on the 2x10 isn't blown. Good luck.

See if they will let you bring your head in and play thru them. I have used a half dozen different Carvin cabs, and they were all built like tanks. I'd be more concerned with how they compliment your gear.

  4. Its an involentary no-go. They've been there for months, and were there on Monday, but someone bought them this week, and theyre gone:( This is the third cab(s) (the other 2 were 2x15) that I *just* missed on. It was for both, and it seems like an incredible deal.

You didn't miss a thing, man. Even at that price, I wouldn't want them. Those cabs are, perhaps along with Crates and a few others, right at the bottom of the food-chain.
