Went to the Mars closing sell and found this. Unlike a lot of their basses, this one is MINT/NEW! No dings, no scratches, no fingerprints, fresh! Built in June 2002, has a AAAAA top (per Modulus) and Barts.

I really like graphite neck basses. This is replacing my Zon.

ldiezman, Yes, it is the same one you played at the Charlotte store. They brought it to the Raleigh store but I don't know why. (Maybe they heard about my Zon mishap ;)) .

I was told that all guitars are going to be taken to the Charlotte store because that store will be open for an extra week.

Nice bass, JR.:) Don't judge all Zons by the one that you bought.

That is a beautiful looking bass. Aside from liking the neck, how does it sound and play?

I didn't know they were staying open for an extended period.. I have never bought anything from the Mars in Charlotte, the guys that work there that I have encountered were jerks.

But I remember that Mod. because it was the prettiest Modulus they had at the store, and it played nicely... not my type of bass, but a great bass non the less. Congrats again man ;)

Very nice. Why is it cooler than the Zon?

I have a Q5, but have been interested in a Zon.

How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind?

JR had a bad experience with a used Zon Sonus Special which has a non standard preamp in it. There is a thread on it a few weeks back.
  15. I just got one too!!!!!
Its amazing I,m just discovering all the sounds. Mine is a 99 with EMG's and 3 band eq with the semi parametric Mid.
He HE He can hardly wait till the next gig

I wasn't going to say anything but: My Zon bass is one of a few (or more) that had a "different" Zon preamp in it. I was very, very, very dissappointed with the sound. My advice is, "Keep your Q-5 until you HEAR the Zon for yourself."

A bass like yours hung in our Mars for two years. It was purchased at the 30% discount level.

    But anyway, very nice bass.

JR, you take very nice pictures.:) The Modulus and Zon both look awesome. I take it you are selling the Zon?

Nice looking bass JB! You realize of course that you've completed the circle (just in a different color)! But haven't we all! :D
