    just got a bass should i keep the plastic on the pickgarud yes or no?

    No. There's no sense in protecting protective plastic. Besides, it'll start peeling in a week and look like poop.

    take it off, the whole point of the plastic is to protect the pickguard until it is sold. the pickguard is made to be scrachted, it is protecting the finish of the bass.

    There's really no sense in that, and I have a story here:

    a friend of mine bought his 1st electric guitar (it was Caraya, ultra-crap, as he admits himself), and didn't remove the plastic as he didnt notice it. When I said "hey, your guitar is peeling" , he said it's just coz it's crap. Then I remove the plastic, wowing him... :D
