pickguard help

  1. hey guys, im not sure what forum this should be in so mods please move if im in the wrong

    im working on building up an old lawsuit p and have a quick question

    im looking at replacing the pickguard but the one i want to buy has more screws then the original, can i just drill out the extra holes and use it? also the original has opening for the truss rod at the top and the new one dosnt, but can i just remove the pickguard when i need to access the truss rod?

    You could just get a copy of the one you have. Through some of the pickguard sites on the web. Try pickguards.com I think? You could get an exact copy of the original in any material they have for it looks like a fair-ish price... no extra holes, no drama..
  3. im not really looking to put a lot of money into this bass its more of a learn how a bass it put together project and i found a great deal on this pickguard so if i can use it i would really love to, but ill keep that in mind for the next project, thanks
