I just purchased a Player Precision in polar white with a white pickguard. It looked a bit sterile so I hunted around for a snazzy pickguard. What do you think about this one? Solid construction and only $22. Gets good reviews. Very sloppy cut and paste job but you get the idea. Not that it makes a huge difference but the actual bass this is going on has a pau ferro board, not maple. {}
Upon second look, I can only think of a really bad polyester shirt from the 70’s (yeah, I’m old enough to remember that )
Looks good w the maple, but now that you say PAU, its sorta hard to envision, as it can vary so much. Btw, your strings are broken. With a PAU board, you just may be right. T$
I said yay, but I'm really on the fence. It looks ok. But not quite my taste. But you have to make yourself happy.
Yeah. It has a nice contrast, a complimentary color, the white areas pick up and coordinate with the white body. It's unusual, but interesting. If I had seen that pickguard material on something uncommon, other than the iconic Fender P-bass format... I'd probably have liked it more.
Maybe it's the maple that's throwing me. On maple it looks like an after-thought made with a bad hangover. But I agree, on PAU it probably won’t look terrible. 057912
After superimposing with the correct board, I'm starting to agree with you... unless it's REALLY light pau. I'm still not sure of exactly what it looks like cuz Sam Ash uses stock photos.
