hi, i've got a fender 50th anniversary jazzbass, and i want to exchange the white pickguard. the problem is that i ordered a regular one and it doesn't fit (drill holes, the truss rod cavity is near the neck pickup) anyway i am working near a carpenter and i was thinking maybe i sould give him my original one so he will make me one. the local luthier (we don't have much in israel) wants 50 $ !!! to make one and as far as i know he doesn't have much of experience of making them. so what do you think ?
http://www.pickgaurds.com see if they got it there maybe...?? make sure it looks like the original ~ Tyler
Hmmm... It's http://www.Pickguards.com man... I looked on http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7...?q=FENDER+PICKGUARD+BASS&sc=price&so=asc&d=tp (MusiciansFriend) and saw some 62 jazz's, but no 50... Sorry, good luck!! later-
Well... as far as I can tell, your main problem is that you play fenders. Get'cho self a Warwick and never worry about a pickguard again!
A friend of mine recently had a pickguard that didn't match put on his guitar. The tech (a very talented guy who has done quite a bit of work on my stuff) just drilled in some new holes and it fit perfect. If you don't mind having some new holes drilled, you can certainly have that pickguard, although it might not look QUITE as good.
nah man...im not gonna drill holes in my bass. but i got an email from pickguards.com and they told me that the stand. american jazz bass size should fit and from what i saw it might.
Hey, you have an excuse. NewBass lives in the US. You live in a place where English is less commonly spoken.
