Picking up a new cab! (JCM800 1x18)

    So yeah, i picked this cab on Fleabay.

    Its a bit ratty etc but nevermind.

    Anyone have any experience with these cabs? Hoping it will sound deeper then my Peavey 1x15. I am likely to change the speaker to a 4ohm 1200W Fame speaker. (Or would you recommend something else?)

    The main concern i have is response, whats the most responsive aftermarket 18incher? (Impossible dream but who knows!)

    I'll be pairing it with a Peavey ported 4x10.

    Wow goes pretty much exactly with the new amp I just bought!!! Mine's an '81 model which sounds about right for yrs too-almost??? Good solid stuff.... pity I can't hop over to yr place with the amp for a try out of the 2 together ;-/

    I've got it's 8 ohm, 200w 4-10 brother as well.
    Mid 80's
    Same grill cloth.
    If we pool the pieces, what day of the week can I use it!
