    Hi!
I current play in a rock band almost every day and i'm sick of the sound of my bass, i use a yamaha bbg4s II (2 soapbars) . So i feel that i must by some new pickups and electronic, i know that i should get a new bass, but there's no money yet. i like very much the sound of warwick, specially the thumb series.
so what what should i do.

  2. Well, if money is an issue, new pickups will do more for your sound than any other investment you can make for your bass.

Are Bartolinis available in Portugal??? They make many different, excellent, soapbars.

I agree with what Rickbass1 said about changing PUP's being a good value. I just wanted to throw out a couple other options that might be a help.

1.) Another cheap way to alter your sound is to change strings. I'm not sure how often you do this, but fresh strings make a big difference and different models and brands have very different sounds.

2.) I'm not sure what your amp setup is, but the addition of a Sansamp Bass DI/preamp can really wake up your sound and give you more tone options. The nice thing about the Sansamp unit is that you can use it with any bass, even if you end up getting something new. I know a fair amount of good players that just use the Sansamp directly into a power amp as their entire amp setup.

    hi!

i think that bartolinis are available in portugal, and i do often try new setups and strings and eq., but i'm tyred of the yamaha sound, this bass has no high notes it's just impossible to get a good slap tone. i've tryed one custom bass in my rig and it rocked.

    tanks!
