hey about how high does the bridge pickup stick up out of a fender jazz bass? or how far is the bridge pickup from the strings on a stock jazz bass? any information would be helpful. thanks

    Hey klutzbsb... Welcome to Talkbass.

Pickup height tends to be kind of a personal preference, but a good rule of thumb, (or my personal preference, if you will!!), is to depress your string at the highest fret, (closest to the bridge), and adjust the pickup to about 1/8" below the bottom of the string. Doing this for both the bridge and neck pickup, E and G strings balances my pickups nicely... Hope this helps
