pickup id: NJ4SV or NJ4SE

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by yem, Oct 19, 2009.

  1. I recently acquired a set of (what I believe to be) split coil Nordstrand J pickups and am trying to identify them as the NJ4SV or NJ4SE model. Does anyone have any insight?

    Here are some pics:

Hmmm... I have a set of SE's that I just took out my 62 RI Jazz. Notice on mine that there is no blue wire like you have just below the top plate. Maybe they're SV's then?

BTW, I looking to sell the SEs if anyone is interested.

  3. that is an NJ4SV set.

the NJ4SE set uses a different sort of wire and a different wind.

the NJ4SV is the split coil (hum canceling) vintage set. thus, SV.

the NJ4SE is the spolit coil, enamel wire set, thus SE.

    cool?
