Hi. I'm rehabing an old Electa Phoenix bass which is a P-style (late 70s, maybe 80s), and I'm going to install a set of Quarter Pounders in it. I've got the wiring scheme down, but I cant find any foam to mount the pickups on.

Anyone know where I can find some? I checked wdmusic.com already, and my local music shops don't supply any.

Also, is there anything special I should know involving the installation of the pickups? I'm also replacing the pots and jack. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

some folks cut up an old mousepad to put under the pickups.

don't forget to re-connect the ground wire running to the bridge
when you put the new pots and jack in.

use a hefty enough soldering iron that will allow you to solder
to the case of the pots.

twist the pickup wires together GENTLY. This helps a little
    in reducing hum.
